About The White Topps Guesthouse
We are a family run hotel with myself (Marjorie) along with my daughter and son helping me keep things running.
O
ur property was built in 1911 as a holiday home for children and as far as we know has been offering accommodation for over 50 years. There are 5 bedrooms - 2 twins, 3 doubles (which can be let as singles if required). All the rooms are pleasantly furnished, with tea/coffee making facilities and wash-basins. We do not have any en-suite rooms.. There are 4 rooms on the first floor with toilets and bathroom directly opposite. One twin room is on the ground floor, next to the front door, and is ideal for elderly or disabled dogs who are not keen on climbing stairs.
There are two lounges - a bar٭ lounge with an impressive bar which probably came off a private yacht, colour television etc., and a further lounge which faces south and has a small 'fridge for guests' use. Next door is the dining room, also south facing, and decorated with lots of 'doggy' pictures and ornaments (as is the rest of the hotel!) This is the domain of Algenon, a big pottery Alsation, and his family.
Our Bar is stocked with soft drinks but if you want alcohol please bring your own.
A full English breakfast is normally served between 9am and 9.30am - should you require an earlier or later breakfast please give us advance notice and we'll do our best to oblige. Dinners are available by prior arrangement at a cost of £15.00 per person (main course of the day, ice cream or cheese and biscuits, coffee).
Vegetarians are more than welcome - please let us know when booking.
There is a car park at the rear - there's space for everyone, plus a couple of spaces on the front lawn.
